知覚と認知のメカニズムの計算論的及び実験的研究

研究概要	平成2年度においては、視覚、聴覚、体性感覚、味覚を含む感覚系のさまざまなレベルで知覚認知の情報処理の神経機構を調べる実験的研究を行った。視覚系については、膝状体系、膝状体外系の詳細な神経路が明らかにされ、またX、Y神経節細胞の神経膜の電気的特性の差違が示された。またネコのクレアビショップ野、サルMT野、下側頭回などの高次視覚中枢では、3次元運動、Visualーflow、顔や風景などの複雑な視覚パタ-ンに選択的に反応する神経細胞が見いだされた。他の感覚系についても、ネコの聴覚野のフォルマント細胞、ラットの味覚中枢の神経細胞の反応選択性が解析され、認知の神経機構に関するさまざまな重要な知見がえられた。理論的な研究についても、さまざまな拘束条件を利用して2次元の視覚情報から視覚対象の3次元構造を推定する能力を備えたtopーdownの情報処理に基づく図形理解Neural net、眼球運動と中心視、周辺視の機能を備え、眼球運動により図形認知を行うNeural net、連想記憶による時系列情報処理を行う聴覚認知のNeural netのモデルなどヒトの認知機能に極めて近い認識機構を備えたモデルを構成する研究が試みられた。またchaosなどの非定常性を利用して、効率的に情報を記憶し、また記憶した情報と入力された情報とを効果的に照合し、類似したあるいは同一の記憶を読み出す機能を備えたNeural netなどの極めて野心的な認知と記憶のモデル研究が行われた。
