研究概要	酸化物超伝導体の発見を契機に、超伝導応用への関心が飛躍的に高まり、特にエネルギ-分野では、超伝導発電機・超伝導電力貯蔵・核融合装置の超伝導化・超伝導リニヤモ-タなど大型の開発計画が急速に進められている。超伝導電力機器を実用化するには、臨界温度のほか、臨界磁界、臨界電流密度が高く、更に熱的に安定で、電磁損失が少なく、かつ耐歪特性など機械的にも優れた特性をもつ超伝導材料の開発が重要である。現在、超伝導機器材料として実用化されているのは、NbTi、Nb_3Snなど、二、三の材料に限られているが、Nb_3Al、PbMo_6S_8など多種類の金属系材料が、高性能の新超伝導材料として注目され、酸化物超伝導材料とともに今後の開発に期待がかけられている。本研究は、種々の専門分野の超伝導材料研究者を全国的規模で有機的に組織し、Ti添加Nb_3Sn、Nb_3Al、PbMo_6S_8及び酸化物超伝導材料などの新生超伝導材料について、超伝導基礎物性・電磁特性・機械的性質及び線材化の検討等、超伝導材料開発に必要な諸特性を総合的かつ体系的に調査研究し、基盤デ-タの整備を行うとともに、超伝導電力機器用の高性能の新超伝導材料開発のための基礎となる知見を得ることを目的として、平成2年度と平成3年度の2年間にわたって調査研究を行った。平成2年度は、幹事会(平成2.10.6;岩手大学)と、2回のシンポジウム(第1回:平成2.12.14,15;八戸高専,第2回:平成3.2.8,9;仙台)を開催した。平成3年度も同じく、幹事会(平成3.7.6;岩手大学)と、2回のシンポジウム(第1回:平成3.11.8,9;秋田,第2回:平成4.2.14,15;仙台)を開催した。尚仙台での第2回シンポジウムは最終報告会とした。これらの研究会活動によって、新生超伝導材料開発の現状と今後の課題が明らかになったと思われる。
