研究概要

ヒトは多様な環境に適応して生存してきた。しかし近年、科学技術の進歩と共に生存環境を調節し、快適性を求める様になると共に、環境そのものを変化させ、ヒトの適応能にも影響が及んでいると考えらる。一方資源の枯渇は、従来人類が経験したことのない深海や宇宙での活動を必要としている。そこで各種生体機能の総合的反応としての適応能を、各種分野の生理学者が集まり、その結果を持ち寄って解析した。
本研究では、生体の外部環境および内部環境の外乱に対する適応反応を体温、循環、体液、代謝等の反応を指標として、細胞レベルから生体レベル、さらには行動レベルにおいて解析し、環境適応反応における体温、循環、体液、代謝等の調節反応間に相互関連およびこれらの統合系としての神経系、内分泌系、免疫系、さらには行動性調節に付いて総合的に検討することを目的とした。
研究成果としては平成2年度および3年度にそれぞれ1回の研究会を持った。研究会では、各班員それぞれの研究発表を行うと共に、専門の立場からの活発な討議が行われ、各種調節機構の間の相互関連に関する理解と、今後さらに各班員の研究にfeedbackすべき問題点等を抽出することが出来た。その成果は平成3年度の生理学会シンポジウム"環境生理学の諸問題"において報告し、また報告書として関連研究者に配布した。本総合研究の成果は、今後の班員の研究に反映するのみならず、広くこの分野の研究に重要な波及効果を持つものと期待される。
