研究概要

IGC 2nd Circular(3月出版)掲載の科学プログラムを企画編成した。
1.科学プログラム運営委員会を4回開催し基本的構想を練りその骨格を決めると共に、地球科学関連の国際組織、国内組織と連絡をとり、協力体制を作ってプログラムが実行可能となるよう企画した。
2.科学プログラム委員会を3回開催し具体案を検討作成した。各委員は個別に会合を開いて案を練ると共に各専門分野間の連係を計り外国研究者と密接に連絡を取って国際性豊かなシンポジウムを編成した。
3.各シンポジウム、ワ-クショップ及びショ-トコ-スの内外約700名のコンビ-ナ-を選出し、これら全員に連絡して承諾を取りつけた。
4.科学プログラムの構成とその概要は次の通りである。
<特別シンポジウム>___ー
A:地球の形成史、特に島狐の形成と進化と生命の起源と進化(6セッション)。
B:人類社会のための先端的研究、特に環境・資源・エネルギ-(5セッション)。
C:地球科学に関する国際プロジェクト研究の成果と進展(11セッション)。
<学際的シンポジウム>___ー
Iー1:特別シンポジウムAに連係にする先端的研究(6セッション)。
Iー2:特別シンポジウムBに連係にする先端的研究(8セッション)。
Iー3:地球科学の複数分野にまたがる基礎的、先端的研究(45セッション)。
<専門分野別シンポジウム>___ー
IIー1〜25:惑星、地球、大陸、海洋、島狐、生物、資源、エネルギ-、環境、自然災害、技術、教育等の基礎的、先端的研究(166セッション)。
<ワ-クショップ及びショ-トコ-ス>___ー
発展が期待される課題の討論、地球科学の研究技術・応用・普及等(13)。
以上により企画編成した科学プログラム案を、1991年1月にサンパウロで開催されたIUGS(国際地質科学連合)執行委員会に提案し承諾を得た。
