研究概要	1.重点領域研究申請に到る経緯:本研究では5つの班をつくり,各班の内外で調整を図りつつ,企画調査を行った。まず各班の代表者会議を東京大学物性研究所において2回行い,基本方針を決定した。ついで標題の研究会(講演数25,参加者27名うち班員17名)と全体会議を11月9ー10日に芦屋で開催して全体の意見交換を行ったのちに,大阪市立大学で最後の代表者会議を開き,申請の細目を決定した。 2.重点領域研究の内容:題を「分子磁性」とし,次の5つの研究項目毎の実施班と,全体を評価・統括する総括班をおいた(括弧内は代表)。 A.分子磁性発現とその機構(木下實),B.新しい分子磁性系の設計と構築(杉本豊成),C.分子磁性の理論(山口兆),D.分子磁性による反応制御(林久治),E.分子磁性の動的挙動(加藤肇),総括班(伊藤公一)。計画研究参加者は25名,研究期間は3年とした。 3.研究の実施概要:申請と並行して,各班においてそれぞれ調査研究を行った。Aでは,磁性発現機構からみて分子磁性体を高スピン分子と強磁性高分子,中性ラジカル結晶,分子性錯体の3つに大別し,それぞれの機構を調べて研究の方針を確立した。Bでは,新しい分子磁性体を探索し,従来から知られている糸に加えて,有機分子のπ電子と無機遷移金属のd電子によるπーd系錯体の構築についても検討した。Cでは,従来未開拓の分野である、分子磁性体における低元性の問題とゆらぎの問題,スピンダイナミックスと高精度断熱ポテンシャルによる反応制御の理論について研究し,他の4班との有機的協力関係の可能性について検討した。Dでは,溶液反応における磁場効果のラジカル対機構とその応用研究およびまだ未開拓な気相反応における磁場効果を検討した。最後にEでは,励起状態におけるスピンダイナミックスと磁場効果,化学反応誘起スピン分極の機構について検討した。
