気相におけるラジカルイオンの構造ー安定性相関

研究概要

前年度に引続き、イオンサイクロトロン共鳴(ICR)法による電子移動反応の平衡定数の測定に基づいて、下記のラジカルアニオンの熱力学的安定性を決定し、その安定性に及ぼす分子構造の効果を解析した。
3,5ージメチルー4ー置換ニトロベンゼン系の電子親和力(EA)に及ぼす置換基効果では、3,5ージメチル基の立体障害による4ーニトロ基の共鳴損失が40%になることが観測され、気相では共鳴効果の立体阻害が溶液中に比較して小さいことが判った。これは、トルエン、フェノ-ルおよびアニリンの気相酸性度の結果からも支持された。この事実から、置換基と溶媒との特異的相互作用に起因する共鳴効果も立体障害により減少することが明らかになり、溶液中の共鳴損失から推定されるニトロ基のベンゼン環平面からのずれは過大評価されていることが示唆された。
ニトロ基の共鳴効果の立体阻害によりラジカルアニオンが不安定化している2,6ージメチルー4ー置換ニトロベンゼンのEAは、対応するニトロベンゼンのEAとの間に傾き1.0の優れた直線関係を示し、母体のラジカルアニオンの安定性と置換基効果の挙動は無関係であることが明らかになった。また、ベンゾフェノンの置換基効果では、ニトロベンゼン系に比較して0.75倍感度の低下が観測されたが、置換基の共鳴効果の寄与には変動が認められなかった。これらの事実から、安定なラジカルアニオンほど置換基効果の感応度が低く、また置援基からの共鳴安定化の寄与も低下すると云う従来の結論を否定することができた。
