研究概要

(1)光合成系IIのOECに含まれるマンガンクラスタ-のモデルとしての四核マンガン錯体の設計・開発:配位子として1,3ーbis[bis(2ーpyridylmethyl)amino]ー2ーpropanol(Htpdp)および1,5ーbis[bis(2ーpyridylmethyl)ーamino]ー3ーpentanol(Htmdp)を含み、di(μーoxo)Mn_2(III,IV)単位からなる四核マンガン(II,III,IV,II)および(III,IV,III,IV)錯体の合成・構造解明に成功した。とくに後者のtmdp錯体では、二つの水分子がdi(μーoxo)Mn_2(III,IV)単位に近接した位置にあり、二つのdi(μーoxo)Mn_2ー(III,IV)単位が積層しているという特徴がある。これらの錯体はOECの四核マンガンクラスタ-のモデルとして非常に注目に値する。
(2)分子状酸素を可逆的に付加する鉄タンパクのモデル二核鉄およびコバルト酸素錯体の創作:HtpdpおよびHtmdpを含む二核コバルト(II,II)錯体[CO_2(tpdp or tmdp)(CH_3COO)]^<2+>を合成し、この錯体が、酸素分子と反応してμーペルオキソ錯体を生成することが判った。さらに、可逆的に酸素付加体を形成する二核鉄(II,II)錯体として、N,N,N',N'ーtetrakis[2ー(6ーmethylpyridyl)methyl]ー1,3ーdiaminopropaneー2ーol(6MeーHtpdp)を含む二核鉄(II,II)錯体を新規に得た。現在、室温で単離可能な酸素錯体の設計・単離を試みている。
(3)固体錯体の熱化学反応:複数個の金属イオンが集合化した新しい特性を示すクラスタ-の開発には、従来の溶液内合成に加えて、新手法として固相での合成法を検討しなければならない。そのためには、あらかじめさまざまな錯体の固体状態における反応を把握しておかなければならない。この研究では、とりあえずニッケル(II)、コバルト(III)錯体の構造変換(とくに異性化)反応の追跡を行った。ここで得られた結果は、今後の新規な固相合成法開発のための基礎資料となるであろう。
