研究概要

本研究は、補助金交付の連絡を受けた後、直ちに日加両国の研究者間で、共同研究計画を十分に検討し、各自の専門分野の違いを考慮して、1)Rock Mechanics、2)Mine Design and Environmental Problems in Mines、3)Mechanization in Mines and Hydraulic Transport、4)Mineral Processingの4グル-プ構成とする研究体制を作り上げた。また、日本側のメンバの一人が7月にアメリカ合衆国で開催された国際会議に出席した折、共同研究を関する学術的な資料の収集と国際的な資源工学上の問題を討議・検討した。会議終了後はクイ-ンズ大学を訪問し、日加両国の研究代表者の相互受け入れの準備・調整と意見交換を行った。このときの合意内容に基づき、10月には日本側の研究代表者が訪加し、クイ-ンズ大学の研究状況を診察するとともに、クイ-ンズ大学研究グル-プのメンバ-(研究分担者)との間で次年度以降の共同研究プロジェクトに関する全体的な打ち合せを実施した。さらに、11月にクイ-ンズ大学側の研究代表者が来日して、日本国内の代表的な製錬所・鉱山である秋田製錬株式会社飯島製錬所、小坂製錬株式会社、花岡鉱金株式会社ならびに金属鉱業研修技術センタ等を訪問し、現場担当者を含めて日本・カナダ両国の資源産業における問題点を検討するとともに、研究資料の交換や資源工学全般にわたる検討会を開催した。一連の検討会・会議では、資源産業における経済的、技術的な問題ならびに大学における資源工学の教育問題等が様々な角度から検討されたが、とくに取り上げられた内容を要約すると、次のとおりである。
1)今後の大学における研究・技術開発の在り方
2)一般企業あるいは公的機関の研究所との共同研究
3)日加両国における研究費の問題
4)研究分担者各自が進めている研究上の問題
5)日加双方の研究分担者間で協力して研究・開発できる点
6)次年度以降の共同研究に関する詳細かつ具体的な検討
