新しい物質設計指針に基づく高温超伝導体の開発

研究概要	平成3年度は、 (1)、銅酸化物超伝導体の電子状態の構造敏感性とそれを考慮した物質設計を行った。特に申請者らの提唱したブロック層の概念を用いて物質設計を行い、叉、新しいブロック層の開発に努めた。更に、高圧下に於ける電子状態の変化など構造に敏感に依存した電子論的なパラメ-タを明らかにし、高温超伝導体になるための条件を定量化した。 (2)非銅系の高温超伝導体の探索の目的をかねて、価数制御(キャリア-ド-ピング)したチタン、バナジュウム、ニオブ酸化物の物質合成の詳細について集中的な研究を進めた。特に、フィリングネスを系統的に変えたペロブスカイト酸化物、二次元酸化物を合成し、電気的、磁気的物性を調べて電子相図を作製しつつある。特に、分光的手法により強相関電子系に特徴的な電子構造の変化(ギャップ内状態、キャリア-ドピングによる金属ー絶縁体転移、電子有効質量の異常増大など)を解明しつつある。 (3)シェブレル構造をもつボロン化合物についても、系統的にキャリア-を変化させ、新しい超伝導体の可能性を模索している。 (4)光電子スペクトルの解析から、異常に高い原子価をもつ一部の遷移金属酸化物(NaCuO_2,SrFeO_3等)の電荷移動エネルギ-が従来考えられていたように正の値をとるのではなく、負の値をとるという新しいタイプの電子構造をもつことを見いだした。更に、このような物質の金属ー絶縁体転移が結晶構造と密接に関連していることを提唱した。このように多くの光電子スペクトルの解析から、電子構造を特徴づけるパラメ-タを系統的に評価し、新しい物質の電子構造物性を予測する経験測を見いだしつつある。
