研究概要	平成2年度に引続き、重点領域研究「大腸菌ゲノムの全体像」を効果的に進めるため、当初の研究実施計画に沿って大局的な見地から研究全体の遂行と総括を行なった。 (1)第3回公開シンポジウムを平成4年2月19日東京で開催し、研究成果の討議,研究者間の交流を行なった。また同日第3回総括班会議を行ない、本重点領域研究3年間の成果のとりまとめと大腸菌ゲノムに関する今後の研究推進策などにつき協議した。 (2)第4回合同班会議を平成4年2月20,21の両日東京で行ない、研究成果の討議、情報交換と同時に、昨年度のアンケ-ト調査に基づいて試行中の研究者集団による組織的ゲノムシ-ケンス決定作業の進行状況(約70キロベ-スを解読中)についても討議した。 (3)上記の会合のほか3回に互り計画研究班代表者による班長会議を開き、研究推進策につき密接な協議を重ねた。特に上記のアンケ-ト調査の結果を慎重に検討し、組織的シ-ケンス決定作業を担当する研究者集団を組織しその実施連絡会議を京都で開いた。 (4)昨年度に引続き企業研究機関にDNAシ-ケンス分析の一部を委託し、本年度は約40キロベ-ス(初年度の4倍)を解読した。 (5)組織的シ-ケンス決定の第1回成果(110キロベ-ス)を学会で発表すると共に、国際誌に論文を投稿した。 (6)ゲノムDNA全体を網羅する整列クロ-ンをメンブランフィルタ-に焼き付けた「遺伝子マッピング用フィルタ-」の改良版を業者委託により作成し、研究者に配布した。 (7)サ-キュラ-を発行し、研究者間の連絡の一助とした。
