研究概要	研究班を2グル-プに分け、それぞれシンク機能発現の遺伝的調節、およびシンク機能の調節因子を研究課題とした。第1のグル-プにおいて、葉緑体の機能調節機構を調べるため、大山はゼニゴケ葉緑体中の未知遺伝子の機能を光合成細菌の形質転換系を利用して解析し、小林はシロイヌナズナの組織やカルスを用いてDNAのメチル化と光合成抑制機構との関係を檢討した。典型的なシンク器官である種子について、南川はマメの種子の形成期および発芽時に大きな変動をみせる数種の貯蔵たん白や酵素の遺伝子の構造とその調節機構を調べ、平野はイネ種子のアミロ-ス合成を支配する遺伝子について、同様にその構造と分現制御の様子を解析した。茅野はダイズ種子の貯蔵たん白であるβーコングリシニンの遺伝子を他植物に導入し、ダイズにおけると同様にその発現が栄養条件によって支配されることをみた。新名も西洋ワサビのペルオキシダ-ゼ遺伝子のプロモ-タ-域を人為的に操作し転写活性の変化を調べた。第2のグル-プにおいて、シンク器官の形成促進物質について、吉原はキクイモ、タマネギの塊茎、鱗茎形成物質を検索し、日長による変動を調べた。一方、山根はタマネギの鱗茎形成の抑制にジベレリン(GA_1)が関与していることを確めた。橋本はヒヨスにおけるスコポラミン生成に関与するヒヨシアミン水酸化酵素の遺伝子を単離し、その5'上流域の塩基配列を決定した。ファイトアレキシンの生成に関し、西はニンジンの6ーヒドロキシメチル化酵素の性質を明らかにし、酵素の誘導に関わるエリシタ-の作用を検討し、上野はオオムギやエンバクのファイトアレキシンの単離、同定を進めた。庄野は細菌型オ-キシン合成系とされているインド-ルアセトアミド経路の植物における分布を調べ、果実形成期に活性が上昇することをみた。坂神も種子に特徴的な4ークロロIAAの役割について、その活性の変動を調べ、生合成経路の検討を進めた。
