研究概要	本重点領域研究は、原核生物並びに真核生物細胞複製における制御の仕組みを分子レベルで総合的に理解することを研究目的としている。そのために「ゲノム複製開始の制御」、「ゲノム複製の終結と分配の制御」、「細胞複製制御の遺伝子発現」の3課題について班員33名からなる計画研究班を組織し、公募研究15課題と共に領域研究の重点的推進をはかった。先ず6月に総括班会議を開催し本年度の活動方針を決定した。ついで3班合同の班会議を3月に開催し班員の研究の理解と連携をはかった。又9月に東京で公開シンポジウム「細胞周期をコントロ-ルする仕組み」を開催、10題の演題によりこの研究分野の一般へのアピ-ルを行った。領域研究の推進、人材発掘、若手研究者の育成などのために、「DNA複製ワ-クショップ」(10月)、「細胞制御ワ-クショップ」(1月)、「染色体ワ-クショップ」(2月)を主催及び共催した。又班員間の連携と情報交流のために7月、10月、12月の3回サ-キュラ-を発行した。2月には各班員の研究の進展状況をまとめた報告集を作り、全班員の配布し、研究の相互理解を深め、かつ来年以降の総括班の運営資料とした。3月に第2回総括班会議を開催し、本年度の活動の総括、反省と来年度の計画の検討を行った。幹事会は5回開催しきめ細かい総括班の活動につとめた。研究拠点となる研究室には下記の大型機器を設置し、研究の推進に大いに役立った:細胞並びに細胞成分の分離精製解析のためにベックマン社製、超遠心機、卓上型超遠心機、エルトリエ-ション遠心機、高速液体クロマトグラフィ、細胞微細構造解析用にオリンパス製位相差顕微鏡及びカ-ルツアイス社製倒立顕微鏡、又、事務処理と研究連絡デ-タ処理を円滑に行うためのパ-ソナルコンピュ-タ-などである。本年度の班員による出版、英文論文総数は83編にのぼり、大きな成果があがった。
