研究概要	植物における遺伝子発現の柔軟性の見地から興味あるのは、植物ホルモンを含む因子群により遺伝子発現制御の動態はいかなるものかという点にある。この点から研究発足の初年度にあたり、基礎固めをすべく植物ホルモンとしてはオ-キシンなどに着目した解析を行なったところオ-キシンにより細胞周期のGoーS期に密接に関連して発現する遺伝子の一群parA,parB,parCが誘導されることがわかったが、parBはグルタチオンSートラスフェラ-ゼ遺伝子であった。これは、オ-キシンで誘導される遺伝子の中で機能が同定された最初の例となり、その他は一群の遺伝子ファミリ-を構成し、様々なシグナルに様々に応答することが判明し、標記の目的に好適な系であることが判明した。また、シロイヌナズナで花芽形成の変異を示す突然変異はオ-キシンの輸送に変異があることも示され、このところ研究の停滞していたオ-キシン研究に突破口を開いた。一方、蔗糖およびポリガラクツロン酸に応答することが報告されているベ-タアミラ-ゼの発現に関するシス、トランスの因子の解析が進み遺伝子発現は確かに柔軟といってよい状況にあることが示され、より詳細な機構の解析が待たれる状況でもある。多重遺伝子族の例としてはフェニルアラニンアンモニアリア-ゼが、傷害により誘導されるものがあるとともにオ-キシンで誘導されるものがあることが分かり、その使い分けの分子機構も詳しく知りたいところである。更に、ヒャクニチソウ葉肉細胞で見られる仮導管要素の分化でも関与する遺伝子群が判明しつつあることも標記の課題にある解答を準備する状況といえる。班全体としてはなお目標にむけ鋭意邁進する必要であるが、明らかにされた成果には見るべきものがあると考える。
