研究概要	本研究の目的は、重点領域研究「中枢シナプスの分子生物学」を発足させるための準備調査を行なうことである。中枢のシナプスにおいては生理学的ならびに薬理学的研究によって、長期増強、長期抑圧などの可塑性が見出され、学習・記憶の基本的進程として注目を集めているものの分子機構についての知見は乏しい。したがって、高次の生理機能を担う中枢シナプスにおける情報伝達の素過程および調節を分子レベルで明らかにすることが焦眉の重要課題である。このためには分子生物学、生理学、薬理学をはじめとする諸分野の協同による総合節的研究が必要不可欠である。この目的のため、(1)班構成員の中から4名のワ-キンググル-プを選び、具体的な研究計画案を作成するとともに、中枢シナプスの分子生物学に関する重点領域研究当該分野り情報、資料の収集にあたった。(2)我が国を代表する脳・神経系の学者6名と脳・神経系を対象とする諸分野の第一線の研究者10名をもって総合研究班を組織し、班会議を開催した。班会議では、中枢シナプスの分子的理解に向けての具体的な研究目標の設定、重点領域研究の組織作り、協同研究体制強化のための方策について、ワ-キンググル-プの提出する案をもとに討議するとともに充分な吟味を行なった。(3)さらに、脳・神経研究に携わる分子生物学、生理学、薬理学、生物物理学、神経化学をはじめとする各分野から意欲的な若手研究者、中堅研究者を集め研究発表を開催することにより中枢シナプスの総合的研究に向けて研究者相互の情報交換の場を提供するとともに、我が国の関連諸分野の研究レベルと進捗状況を具体的に再確認した。(4)重点領域研究の計画班員予定者を集めて具体的な研究実施計画の検討を行った。さらに、相互の理解を深めるために、各班員予定者の代表的な論文を収録した論文集を作り配布した。
