複雑な構造を持つマルテンサイトに対する無拡散相変態の結晶学的研究

研究概要

通称マルテンサイト変態と呼ばれる無拡散相変態の結晶学については、「現象論」とよばれる優れた理論がある。しかし今もって変態の結晶学が確立していない合金や最近見い出された複雑な構造を持つ合金がある。これらに対し詳細な研究を行い、マルテンサイト変態に対し統一的な描像を得ることが本研究の目的である。具体的には、Ni-Al合金のB2→14M(7R)変態とAu-49.5at%Cd合金のβ_2(B2)→ζ_2'(trigonal)変態を取り挙げ、以下の結果を得た。まずNi-Al合金については、B2→14M(7R)変態に対しても現象論が良く成り立つことを見い出した。14M(7R)変態の自己調整形態に対して現象論的解析を行い、その基本形態は平行四辺形型であるという新しい提案を行った。更にNi-Al合金にMnを添加した三元合金では、10M(15R)及び12M(36R)という他の合金系でも観察されたことのない新しいマルテンサイトを見い出した。次に後者のAu-49.5at%Cd合金に対しては、まずζ_2'(trigonal)マルテンサイトの構造をX線4軸回折計を用いて50年ぶりに決定した。β_2→ζ_2'変態についてはこれ迄、Ledbetter等による格子不変変形はあるという報告と唯木等によるないという報告が対立していて、大きな矛盾となっていたが、自己調整形態の詳しい観察から、格子不変変形のある場合とない場合の両方の変態機構を見い出し、この矛盾を解消した。又β_2→ζ_2'応力誘起変態を始めて見い出したことから、この合金系の応力-温度空間での状態図を確立できた。以上により、格子不変変形を正しく選べば、複雑な構造を持つマルテンサイト変態に対しても現象論が元の形でよく成り立つことを示すことができた。
