元素・同位体システマティクスによる地球資源形成プロセスの解明

研究概要	地球における物質循環という観点からみると、資源の形成と地球環境の問題は表裏一体の関係にある。平成四年度においては、この点を特に考慮しながら、平成三年度に開発した元素・同位体分析システムを様々な地球物質に適用し、新たな資源形成と環境問題へのアプローチを模索した。資源については、石炭・石油・スカルン鉱床、また鉱床周辺の水や草木類についても分析を行った。原油試料については石油資源開発(株)と共同研究を行い、秋田〜新潟地域の油田について100に及ぶ原油の硫黄同位体分析を行った。その結果、広域的及び単一油田における硫黄同位体組成の変動について新知見を得ることができた。更に花崗質岩およびそれに関係して形成した鉱床の成因を明らかにすることを目的として、韓国沃川帯に分布する花崗質岩のRb-Sr、Sm-Nd年代測定を行った。その結果、三畳紀から白亜紀に至る一連の火成活動の変遷について新たな知見を得ることができた。三畳紀花崗質岩の存在は韓国における新発見である。またスカルン鉱床について、八茎鉱山の灰重石化作用とスカルン化作用についてまとめ報告した。現在地球環境の問題として取り上げられている酸性雨は、石油・石炭に由来する硫黄が主要なソースとされている。硫黄およびSr同位体をトレーサーとして地球-水生態系へのアプローチを試みた結果、降雨のSr同位体組成はエアロゾルのソースを知る上で良い指標になりうること、日本の土壌には黄砂に由来する成分がかなりの量含まれている、といった新知見を得ることができた。またSr同位体は降雨-土壌-植物系における物質移動の動態を知るトレーサーとして有効であることが明らかになった。このことは、森林破壊・土壌劣化に加え植物や土壌を用いた地球化学探査にもSr同位体が適用できることを示している。
