林木の個体間の二酸化炭素交換機能特性の時間依存性

研究概要

1.実験林及び実験方法
名古屋大学農学部構内のヒノキ18年生(1992年現在)実験林でサイズを異にする5個体について、2台の立木同化測定装置を順次、各個体に移し替えながら個体レベルのCO_2ガス交換速度を測定した。1個体の測定期間は月に10-15日間とし、この期間は昼夜連続測定した。測定は1991年10月から開始した。CO_2ガス交換測定と平行して、測定個体の毎木調査(樹高、生枝下高、生枝下高幹直径、樹高の1割高での幹直径、地際から50cm間隔で幹直径)を毎月、実施した。
2.結果
個体レベルで測定された年総光合成速度(年地上部純生産速度+年地上部暗呼吸速度)p[kg(CO_2)tree^<-1> yr^<-1>]は個体の幹材積v[dm^3]が大きいほど大きく、この両者の関係は以下に示す拡張されたべき乗式で表された。 p=g(v-vmin)^h vmin,h;係数. この式は、個体幹材積がvminに近づくにつれて、個体の年総光合成速度が急激に減少してゼロとなることを示しており、vminは林分で生存可能な最小個体の幹材積と見なすことが出来る。また、係数hの値はほぼ2/3となり、サイズの大きな個体の年総光合成速度は個体の表面積にほぼ比例しているといえた。本研究で得られたp-v関係は林分の年総光合成生産を推定するのに有効であるばかりでなく、自然間引きの機構を物質経済の面から解析する上でも興味深い結果である。
以上の結果は1年半で得られたものでるので、さらに実験を継続することにより、本研究の目的である個体レベルのCO_2交換速度の個体サイズ依存在の時間経過を明らかにするつもりである。
