識別指向運動の中枢機構

研究概要	視覚識別指向運動に関与する中枢経路を明らかにするため以下の実験を行い下記の結果を得た。ネコに前方の正中を正視した状態から、新たにパネル上に出現したオレンジとグレ-プの立体模型のうちオレンジを識別選択してそれに頭を向け、注視するように訓練した。この視覚識別に関与する大脳皮質領域を明らかにするため、外側膝状体系の皮質投射領域(17ー18野、上シルビウス溝内側堤AMLS、PMLS領域)、非膝状体系の皮質投射領域(18ー21野、上シルビウス溝AMLS、PMLS、ALLS、SLLS領域、後シルビウス溝DLS、VLS領域)の各部位を破壊し、視覚識別指向運動に対する効果を調べた。外側膝状体系の皮質投射領域の17ー18野、上シルビウス溝内側堤(AMLS、PMLS領域)、ALLS、後シルビウス溝DLS、VLS領域の各部位を破壊しても、識別指向運動に著明な障害はみられなかった。非膝状体系の皮質投射領域の上シルビウス溝外側堤PLLSの一側を破壊すると、識別は障害され、まず正常側の脳の視野で識別物体をとらえて判断し、間違った場合には対側を向くというように運動のプランを変え障害を補償した。この結果、PLLSが視覚識別における視覚入力の重要な中継部位であることが分かった。次に識別結果の運動出力に関与する大脳領域を明らかにするため、脊髄、脳幹へ出力する大脳皮質の色々な部位を破壊した。上丘、脳幹への出力部位である前頭眼野の片側(左)を破壊すると、破壊側脳(右視野)での識別ができなくなり、ネコは常に左視野の端に向き正常側の脳の視野(右視野)で識別物体をとらえ、判断するように運動プランを変え、障害を補償した。これらの結果から、この識別指向運動では識別に必要な視覚入力は非膝状体系(PLLS)に入り、識別結果は前頭眼野から上丘に出力されることを示唆した。申請した備品はすべて購入し、現在順調に作動している。
