液体分子線流を用いる溶液および界面の局所状態分析装置の開発

研究概要

液体分子線装置を設計・製作し、真空中に液体分子線流を作ることを行なった。液体流が真空中に流入されている時でも、その真空度は10^<-5>torr以下にすることができた。このような液体分子線にレ-ザ-光を照射し、気相中に出でくるイオンの質量分析を行なった。レ-ザ-光の波長・強度、液体に溶解した溶質の濃度を変化させながら、溶液の界面および内部におけるイオン化およびそれら生成イオンの気相脱出過程を調べた。また、溶液中の溶質分子の不均1分布についても情報を得た。用いた試料はアニリンエタノ-ル、メタノ-ル溶液、塩化-1-ドデシルピリジニウム水溶液、ロ-ダミン6Gおよびフタル酸のエタノ-ル溶液などである。得られた結果を以下に箇条書きする。
(1)アニリンのエタノ-ル溶液を用いて、光照射によって溶液中に生成した、アリニンクラスタ-イオン(ANn)およびアリニン・エタノ-ル混合クラスタ-イオン(AN-Et)の励起波長依存性、およびアニリン濃度依存性を調べた。その結果、これらイオンはイオン間のク-ロン爆発によって運動エネルギ-を得、溶液から気相中に脱出してくることが明らかになった。予想される運動エネルギ-は100meVであるのに対し、気相中に脱出したイオンの運動エネルギ-は70meVであった。一方アニリンクラスタ-イオンは、溶液中で集合しているアニリン分子群から生成し、アニリン・エタノ-ル混合クラスタ-イオンは溶液中で孤立したアニリン分子から生成することが明らかになった。
(2)塩化-1-ドデシルピリジニウムは疎水基と親水性を持つため、その水溶液表面ではその分子は疎水基を気相側に向けて配位していることが期待される。実際、その光イオン化でも、気相側に向いたドデシル基の光解離によって生成するイオンが観測された。
