ハムスタ-の日内休眠:環境要因の影響及びメラトニンによる調節機構

研究概要	自然条件での日内休眠を観察すると同時に.体重の変化及び生殖腺その他の臓器重量測定とするために.ハムスタ-の屋外のベランダにおいた。春、夏.秋.冬のデ-タをとり、血中のホルモン量(テストステロン、甲状腺ホルモン)の測定及びホルモンレセプタ-の測定を行っている。恒温室内における実験として、体重、摂食量に及ぼすテストステロン、メラトニン、甲状腺ホルモン(T_3,T_4)の影響を調べた。雄のハムスタ-を短日条件(8時間明16時間暗)に25週間おき、体重が最低になるようにした。このハムスタ-を次の8つのグル-プに分けた。(1)長日コントロ-ル、(2)短日コントロ-ル、(3)去勢、(4)去勢+テストステロン投与、(5)去勢+テストステロン+メラトニン投与、(6)溶媒投与、(7)T_4投与、(8)T_3投与。短日コントロ-ル以外は長日(16時間明8時間暗)に移した。その結果.去勢グル-プにおいては摂食量の増大にもかかわらず体重の増加は見られなかった。テストステロンを投与したグル-プにおいては体重の顕著な増加が見られた。従ってテストステロンはハムスタ-のエネルギ-消費を抑えているものと思われる。メラトニンはテストステロンを投与したグル-プの体重の増加を抑えたので、おそらく、メラトニンは生殖腺の系とは独立に.多分摂食を抑えることによって体重の増加を抑えたものと思われる。甲状腺ホルモンの投与は摂食量をやや増加させたが、体重の変化は見られなかった。血中テストステロン及びT_3、T_4量はラジオイムノアッセイにより測定し、去勢及びホルモン投与の結果の確認をした。また、長日及び短日条件にハムスタ-をおき、その活動リズムおよび活動量の変化を赤外線方式のアクトグラフにより測定し、デ-タの解析を行っている。新たに購入したプログラム恒温器はほぼ自然状態と同じ温度変化がシュミレ-トできるので、ハムスタ-の活動および日内休眠に及ぼす温度の影響について調べる準備をしている。
