スメクティック液晶を溶媒とする高配向ポリアセチレンの合成と物性

研究概要	二種のフェニルシクロヘキシル系スメクティック液晶の等モル混合物を溶媒として用いた異方性反応場で、テトラブトキシチタン、Ti(OBu)_4、とトリエチルアミン、AlEt_3、からなるチーグラ・ナッタ触媒溶液を用いて、アセチレンの重合を行った。【chemical formula】走査型電子顕微鏡(SEM)観察の結果、ポリエン鎖の束であるフィブリルの配向形態は一様ではないものの、初めてスメクティック液晶相において直接配向フィルムを合成することに成功した。このフィルムは、巨視的には一様ではない配向にも関わらず微視的領域での配向性のため、ヨウ素によるケミカルドーピング後の電気伝導度は、1.3x10^4S/cmと、ネマティック液晶を用いて合成した配向フィルムの伝導度の最高値と同程度の高い値であった。次に、高強度・高延伸性ポリアセチレン薄膜の合成を目的として開発された新規無溶媒重合法を本液晶重合法に応用し、直接配向し、かつ力学的延伸性に優れたフィルムの合成を試みた。先ず、溶媒を用いずに室温でTi(OBu)_4-AlEt_3触媒を調製し、引き続き、150℃、1時間の高温熱処理を行った。その後、ネマティック液晶ないしはスメクティック液晶を適量加え所定の触媒濃度にし、これにアセチレンを導入した。液晶相を保つため、触媒の濃度そのものを低くせざるえなかったため、際だった延伸性の向上は得られなかったが、フィルムの脆さは改良された。
