研究概要

この研究で扱われた問題は以下の通りである:
1.譲歩量基準EICの利用:季節調整の問題におけるEIC(Extended Information Criterion)の利用が論じられ、提案されたリサンプリング法によると、外挿による予測に適したトレンドが選択されることが示された。
2.多変量経済時系列解析:多次元時系列解析のための前処理としての季節調整の役割を研究した。相互に関連している時系列を個々に季節調整し、トレンドを除去すると相互の関係に関する情報が失われる危険があることが湿された。
3.動的X11モデル:米国センサス局の開発した季節調整法であるX11法は手続きの総体として定義されている。これをモデルベースの現代的統計手法に再構成するためにその中味を分析するなかでそれが乗算的時系列のトレンド推定に関してユニークな特色を持っていることが明らかになり、その特色をモデルベースで実現する方法を考えた。一つの方法はlog変換した後で加算的モデルベース季節調整法を適用してトレンド推定し、その後バイアスを修正してやる方法で既にYoung.A.H(1968)の仕事があるがそれをさらに拡張した方法を導入しその有効さを実データを用いて示した。もう一つはX11的性質を持ったモデルを新たに導入し直接そのようなトレンドを推定することで、動的X11モデルとでもいえるモデルを開発し、その有効さを示した。
4.モンテカルロ・フィルター:任意の密度関数を多数の粒子を用いて表現する方法を用いて、非線形・非ガウス型の状態空間モデルのフィルタリング・平滑化を行なうためのモンテカルロ・フィルタを呼ばれる新しいアルゴリズムを開発した。この方法は従来の非ガウス型フィルタと異なり数値積分を必要としないので高次元の状態空間モデルへの適用が可能となった。モンテカルロ・フィルターの開発により季節性を持つ時系列の解析においても自由に非線形・非ガウス型のモデルを利用することが可能となった。具体的には以下の問題への応用を行なった。
1)トレンドや季節成分のステップ状の変化の検出2)異常値の処理3)積型・混合型モデルの推定4)システムノイズなどのハイパーパラメータのベイズ推定
5.遺伝的アルゴリズム:パラメータ間に一次元的な特殊な構造をもつようなもの-例えば時系列-は、一般化された状態空間表現の枠組みで問題解決を行うのが、計算手続きの見通しが良く様々な点に於いて都合が良い。状態ベクトルの次元が比較的高い場合に提案されたモンテカルロフィルタは(以後MCF)、自然淘汰と発生のメカニズムを模倣する最適化の一手法の遺伝的アルゴリズム(Genetic Algorithm、以後GA)とほぼ同じ構造をもつことが指摘されている。GAと対応づけることでMCFの理解は容易になるうえに、アルゴリズムに内在する本質的な問題点の認識も深まる。また、MCFの予測の操作にGAのCross-overやMutationの操作をとりこんだ手法が考えられる。実際にその試みを季節調整などの具体的な問題に適用した。
6.DECOMPの改良:ベイズ型季節調整モデルDECOMPにおける定常自己回帰成分推定について、トレンド成分や季節成分とのデータの「食い合い」を避けるために、周波数領域で制約つきの最適化を行なうことで、business cycleに相当する成分の摘出を安定的に行なうような改善を行なった。一方、トレンドのジャンプやキンクのモデリングについては十分な検討を行なうことができなかった。
7.共和分モデル:また、多変量時系列モデルで共通トレンド成分を考慮する共和分モデルについて、その代表的な推定法を取り上げ、状態空間表現を与えることでone-stepで推定する方法を提案した。
8.X-12-REGARIMA:移動平均法を基礎としたセンサス局の季節調整プログラムX-11にAICを利用した回帰モデル選択による予測方式を組み込んだ。
