高分子固体の高次組織と力学的および電気的物性・機能との相関

研究概要	高分子固体の極限物性評価には分子,結晶構造と共に高次組織の効果を定量的に見積ることが重要となる。これに関連して、高分子結晶のモルフォロジーに大きく依存する赤外バンドプロフィル解析により,モルフォロジーの分布を定量的に評価する新しい分光学手法を確立して,種々の例に適用した。すなわち,線状および大還状オリゴマーを含む種々のポリオキシメチレンについて,結晶化条件,熱的および機械的処理によって結晶モルフォロジーが変化する様子を定量的に考察することができた。また,ポリチフッ化エチレンとその線状オリゴマー単結晶の高次組織と相転移挙動の関係を詳細に検討した。この手法はまた,水素化一重水素化試料混合系および鎖長の異なるオリゴマー混合系の結晶化過程における共晶化あるいは相分離の研究にも広く利用できることを示した。ポリオキシメチレンおよびポリチフッ化エチレン結晶における分子運動と構造不整の性質を赤外・ラマンバンドプロフィルの温度変化に基いて解明し、相転移および力学物性に及ぼす効果を定量的に検討した。電気物性に関しては,側鎖型強誘電性液晶高分子の相転移において極めて復雑な層状構造の変化が起ることを明らかにした。すなわち,偉がな温度変化によりメソゲン層の繰り返し構造が極めて敏感に変化して多彩な層状多形(ポリタイプ)が出現する。このように特徴的な層状構造は強誘電性,反強誘電性,フエリ誘電性などの電気的性質と密接に関係するものと考えられる。
