研究概要

研究の推進:本総括班は計画研究(A01分子磁性発現とその機構、A02新しい分子磁性系の設計と構築、A03分子磁性の理論、A04分子磁性による反応制御、A05分子磁性の動的挙動)および27件の公募研究を統括し、研究を効率よく推進するために、計画立案、経費の配分、個々の研究間の連絡・調整と協力体制の確立、情報交換の促進、成果の公開と発表を行ってきた。その結果、ほぼ所期の計画通りに初年度の研究を立ちあげ、推進することができた。共通性の高い主要装置である電子スピン共鳴装置は年度内に大阪市立大学に納入された。
会議・研究会:第1回総括班会議(5月24日、京都)において、平成4年度における研究計画の推進方法、会議および研究会のスケジュール、外国在住の研究者招へい、広報等について審議した。また第2回総括班会議(10月8日)においては、研究開始状況、予算の執行状況、次年度の研究計画について審議した。以上の総括班会議にしたがって、まず「分子磁性シンポジウム」を2回開催した。第1回シンポジウム、(5月23-24日、京都)は研究の実質的な早期立ち上げを目的として開催し、全班員の研究計画の報告・検討を行った。第2回シンポジウム(1月13-14日、東京)は外国人招へい研究者を含む12名の研究報告を行い、初年度の成果を公開したが、班員(52名)を上回る来聴者(60名、企業12社)が参加しこの領域に対する関心の高さを窺わせた。また総括班の岩村、木下、伊藤の主催する「分子磁性の化学と物理に関する第3回国際会議」(10月25-30日、東京)には班員を中心に129名(海外からの参加者は30名)が参加し、本重点領域研究の成果を公開した。この他に合同班会議を2回(A03-05:川渡、A01-03:京都)、班長会議を6回開催した。
広報・出版:ニュースレターを7号まで発刊し、また全班員に関する平成4年度研究成果報告書を作成した。
