研究概要	本重点領域研究は、原核生物並びに真核生物細胞複製における制御の仕組みを分子レベルで総合的に理解することを研究目的としている。そのため「ゲノム複製開始の制御」、「ゲノム複製の終結と分配の制御」、「細胞複製制御の遺伝子発現」の3課題について班員33名からなる計画研究班を組織し、公募研究24課題と共に領域研究の重点的推進をはかった。平成4年度は班運営のため幹事会を5回開催しきめ細かい総括班の活動につとめた。8月に連続班会議を開催し班員の研究の進展を知り相互理解と連携をはかった。又この折に総括班会議を開催し本年度の活動方針を決定した。11月には真核細胞染色体の複製分野において世界をリ-ドするJ.A.Huberman博士(米)を招聘し、最新情報と研究動向について本重点領域班員との間で討議を行い、又今後の研究に対する助言も得た。名古屋大学で公開シンポジウム「真核細胞ゲノムの複製と分配のしくみ」を開催(11月)、班員8名の講演とHuberman博士(米国)の特別講演によりこの研究分野の一般へのアピ-ルを行った。領域研究の推進、人材発掘、若手研究者の育成などのために、「原核生物における細胞複製制御」(8月)、「DNA複製ワ-クショップ」(11月)(Huberman博士も参加)、「細胞制御ワ-クショップ」(1月)を開催した。又班員間の連携と情報交流のために7月、10月、3月の3回サ-キュラ-を発行した。8月には各班員の研究の進展状況をまとめた報告集を作り、全班員に配布し、研究の相互理解を深め、かつ来年以降の総括班の運営資料とした。12月に第2回総括班会議を開催し、本年度の活動状況と来年度の計画の検討を行った。研究拠点となる研究室には細胞成分の分離精製解析のための多機能超遠心機、DNA配列決定と解析のためのDNAシ-クエンサ-、DNAシンセサイザ-、PCR等を設置し、研究の推進に大いに役立った。
