細胞複製制御の分子生物学的研究

研究概要	本重点領域は、原核生物並びに真核生物細胞複製における制御の仕組みを分子レベルで総合的に理解することを研究目的としている。そのために「ゲノム複製開始の制御」、「ゲノム複製の終結と分配の制御」、「細胞複製制御の遺伝子発現」の3課題について班員39名からなる計画研究班を組織し、公募研究13課題と共に領域研究の重点的推進をはかった。本年は過去2年の実績に基づいて6名の旧公募班員を計画班員に加えた。本年度の班の運営方針を決めるため総括班幹事会を6月、8月に開催した。8月には3班連続で4日間にわたる班会議を開催し、全班員が詳細な研究報告を行なった。多くの班員の研究が着実に進展していることが明らかとなった。班会議は班員間の相互理解と連携をはかる上で大きな効果があった。また、班会議の折に第1回総括班会議を開催し、助言を得た。領域研究の推進、人材発掘、若手研究者の育成などの目的で、「細胞複製の分子機構」(8月参加者77名)、「DNA複製とDNAダイナミクス」(10月参加者91名)、「細胞制御」(11月参加者90名)ワークショップを開催した。班員間の連携と情報交流のために、8月と12月にサーキュラーを発行した。12月には第2回総括班会議を開催し、本年度の活動状況と来年度の計画を報告し、これに対する評価と助言を得た。1月に研究報告書を作成し全班員に配布した。班員の共同利用に供するため原核細胞用サイトフローメーターを総括班として購入し平賀研究室に設置した。この設備により我が国においてもようやく原核細胞の細胞周期を測定する態勢がととのったので今後の研究の進展に寄与するものと期待している。
