研究概要	重点領域研究「蛋白質の膜透過と選別輸送の分子機構」の総括班として、研究計画の検討と研究成果の評価のため下記の活動を行った。 1.総括班会議を6月4日、9月9日、10月3日、12月6日に開き、研究の進行状況および研究計画の検討を行った。この他、研究代表者と班長は随時連絡をとり、研究全般の円滑な進展をはかった。尚、10月3日の会議には外国より招聘したこの分野の研究者3名も参加し、我が国の当該分野の研究に対するアドバイスを行った。 2.12月5、6日の両日,大阪で総括班と3つの研究計画班および公募採択研究の全研究者とその共同研究者合計80名が出席し、班会議を行った。各研究者による研究発表と出席者全員による討論がなされた。討論は極めて活発であった。 3.研究班の全体会議の他に、主として若手研究者(班員およびその共同研究者)による合宿形式の研究集会を7月25-27日に八王子市大学セミナーハウスで開催した。約80をの参加があった。 4.総括班主催で公開国際シンポジウム「Protein Targeting and Sorting in the Cell」を10月3日に東京都・東京ガ-デンパレスで開催した。大多数の研究班員が参加し主導的役割を果たした。海外からは総括班で招聘した3名と滞在中の1名の第一線の一流研究者が参加し、本重点領域研究を推進させるのに大きく貢献した。 5.中核的班員による懇談会を数回開催し、本重点領域研究の成果、問題点などについて討論し、当該分野の将来の発展の方向、そのための方策について検討した。 6.全研究班員の連絡先と研究題目、研究経過と計画を記載した研究班員一覧をつくり、全研究班員に配付し、研究交流に資した。
