研究概要	本重点領域研究では、計画班として「組換え機構の分子的基礎」と「生理機能の発現と組換え機構」を研究する2班を組織し、更に公募研究13課題を加えて2年目をスタートした。 9月21日と22日の両日、第7回「遺伝的組換えとその制御」ワークショップを関西セミナーハウスで主催した。本重点領域研究担当者以外も含め100名の参加を得て熱心な討論が繰り広げられた。特にポスター発表は好評であった。これにひきつずき、22日と23日には、大阪ガーデンパレスで統括班会議と合同班会議を開催した。また本重点領域研究の国際的視野からの評価と助言を得るため、本年度は、Charles Radding博士(Yale大学)とAlan Nicolas博士(パリ大学)を招待した。両人は普遍的組換えの研究で世界的に名の知られた方々である。彼らによる評価は良好であった。12月7日には、両博士と城石俊彦博士(国立遺伝学研究所)を講師に招いて、公開講演会を国立京都国際会館で開催した。なかなか盛況であった。3月23日には名古屋で統括班幹事会を開催し、平成5年度の活動方針を検討した。ニュースレターを2回、研究成果中間取り纒め、名簿、を発行した。
