研究概要

●種間関係を中心に:マルハナバチと花の形質の関係および花の形質の遺伝的機構を解明した(井上民)。マルハナバチを送粉者とする植物群集では,ハチの存在する群集としない群集では前者が種類が多いことを明らかにした(井上健)。地中営巣性カリバチ類の多様な作用中心の時空動態を調べ,「柔らかい群集構造」論を作った。(遠藤)。タンガニ-カ湖の魚類群衆を対象に捕食共生による共存促進機構の仮説を呈示した(堀)●生息場所をめぐって:サンゴ礁や温帯岩礁潮間帯群集で「住み込み連鎖」による多種共存促進を確認した(西平)。トビムシ群集の変化は落葉の分解過程(餌と住み場所)と密接に関連していることを明らかにした(武田)。サンゴ群集の遷移と多種様度の変遷を追跡し,種間競争や捕食,物理的攪乱などの影響を検証した(酒井)。湖で物理攪乱や生物攪乱が底生生物の群集構造に及ぼす影響を解明した(竹門)。ニホンスナモグリ幼生の供給のあり方が親および底生生物群集に多大な影響を及ぼすことを示した(玉置)。サンゴ共棲動物群集ではオニヒトデの存在が種多様性や個体サイズに影響を与えることを示唆した(土屋)。ウツボカズラ捕虫葉の動物群集構成種の種多様性はその地域のウツボカズラ種数が多いことが基本的な条件であることを示唆した(茂木)。海草藻場におけるモエビ類について捕食者の影響を介した隠れ家効果による共存機構を,実験と理論的研究で解明した(向井)。●モデルによる数理的研究では:多様な移動分散過程をモデル化して,生物種の分布域の拡大とそれに伴う既存種の後退に関する理論のフレームワークを構築した(重定)。群集の発達過程において相互作用が変化していくことが多種共存を可能にしていることを示した(東)。種の多様性の生成と維持に関して,進化生物学に基づく様々な理論を構築した(巌佐)。多種共存や共生に関して広範なレビューを行なった(川那部)。
