渦鞭毛藻類を細胞内共生者とする海産無脊椎動物における共生関係の発達機構

研究概要	渦鞭毛藻類を細胞内共生者とする軟体動物、二枚貝類のヒメジャコガイ、リュウキュウアオイガイ、オオヒシガイ、クサビヒシガイ、後鰓類のCuthona yamasui、ムカデミノウミウシなどを平成4年度に2回にわたって採集し、その生態について観察を行うとともに(研究分担者大野)、これらの動物から、共生藻類の渦鞭毛藻類を分離培養した。(研究代表者弥益)、研究分担者の加藤、大野および白岩(新潟大学)酒井(琉球大学、熱帯海洋科学センター)と共同して、同じく2回にわたって研究代表者の研究室および上記熱海センターの施設を利用し、主としてオオヒシガイとその共生藻類についての光合成特性、炭酸濃度依存性、共生系における窒素代謝(白岩と協同)について検定と予備的実験を行った。オオヒシガイに共生する渦鞭毛藻類の光補償点が棲息場所における光量子入射量に比し著しく低いこと(加藤、大野)、およびクサビガイの棲息地における生態の解析から、ザルガイ科に見られる共生関係がこれらの二枚貝類の普遍的な生態を示すと考えられるソフトボトム内生生活型の先祖において成立したとの従来からの見解が結論された(大野)。また、培養渦鞭毛藻類のKi値が光強度によって大幅に変化すること、共生藻類は光強度に応じて光合成系の構造を調節する能力を持っており、弱光への適応を光捕捉色素分子のレベルで行っていることが明かにされた。炭酸濃度依存性に関する予備実験では、オオヒシガイ共生藻のCO_2親和性は、光合成の律速因子となっていないことを示した。オオヒシガイにNH_4を与えると、藻類の増殖とともに排泄物中に藻類消化による藻類色素成分の増加が起こることを示した(加藤)。
