研究概要	本年度は、重点領域研究「RNAレプリコン」のとりまとめを行った。平成7年6月12日に北里大学において、第1回総括班会議を開催し、とりまとめに関する話し合いが行われた。この会議では、これまでのとりまとめ方法のみならず、今後のRNAレプリコン研究発展を目指した本年度の活動が話し合われた。その結果、「RNA情報のフロンティア」と題する一般公開シンポジウムを11月28、29日の両日、日経ホールにて開催することが決定した。このシンポジウムは重点研究「エイズの病態と制御に関する基礎研究」(代表・永井美之)との合同シンポジウムとし、RNA情報の多元的制御メカニズムを紹介、さらにRNA研究の重要性と面白さを一般にアピールすることであった。例年のように、各種RNAレプリコン単位のミニシンポジウムも開催することが決定され、植物のRNAレプリコン会議(世話人・渡辺雄一郎)およびレトロウイルス複製会議(世話人・岩本愛吉)が、それぞれ岡山大学資源生物研究所(平成7年10月30日)および東京大学医科学研究所(平成8年1月20日)において開催された。さらに、この領域の若手を世話人(永田恭介、小林信之、中西義信)とした公開シンポジウム「ウイルスを利用する人類の知恵-アポトーシス制御、ウイルスベクター、遺伝子治療」を平成8年2月6日に東京大学山上会館で開催した。いずれのシンポジウムでも多くの参加者が集まり、熱のこもった討論が行われた。本年度の最後には、ニュースレター最終版を発行し、来年度の前半に領域代表者による研究報告書の作成が行われることが決定されている。
