研究概要	昨年度までの研究により光合成の環境耐性と環境適応に関与する遺伝子およびその関連遺伝子の同定と性質の解明が進み、今年度はこれらの遺伝子の他種植物への導入と、作成した形質転換植物の解析を中心に研究を展開した。本総括班では、研究班間、研究グループ間、研究者間の連絡と調整のため委員(連絡調整委員)と、研究計画に対する助言と研究成果の評価をおこなう委員(評価委員)を置き、重点領域研究の促進をはかり、以下の活動をおこなった。 (1)研究計画発表(計画研究班員および公募研究採択者全員)を7月7〜8日(岡山)に開催した。(2)研究成果発表会(計画研究班員および公募研究採択者全員)を1月27〜29日(基礎生物学研究所)に開催した。(3)総括班会議を7月7日(岡山)、1月27日、1月29日(両日とも基礎生物学研究所)に開催した。(4)研究連絡・調整会議を5月28日(京都)、8月25日(能登)、11月4日(京都)に開催した。(5)計画班員および公募研究採択者全員の平成6年度の研究成果を取りまとめ、平成6年度研究成果報告書として発刊した。(6)光合成の環境応答の分子機構ニュースレター第7号(内容:研究組織および班員・班友名簿)を6月に、第8号(使って下さいコーナー)を8月に、第9号(トランスジェニック植物の評価)を12月に発刊した。(7)ワークショップ「トランスジェニック植物の評価」を8月24〜26日(能登)に、公開講演会「植物光合成の環境適応-機構解明と応用」を11月4日(京都)に開催した。(8)研究班員の提案課題によるミニワークショップを2件開催した。「形質転換イネの作出とその応用」を11月25〜26日に基礎生物学研究所(出席者48名)で、「光合成機能を機軸とする植物の高秩序系研究の展望」を12月26〜27日に名古屋三の丸会館(出席者38名)で開催した。(9)研究室活性化セミナーを3件(村田研究室:基礎生物学研究所、佐藤研究室:岡山大学、浅田/田中研究室:京都大学食糧化学研究室)開催し、本重点領域研究を構成する研究室の一層の研究促進を図った。(10)研究分担者間および研究室間の共同研究を4件おこなった。「脂肪酸不飽和化に伴う葉緑体遺伝子の発現調節機構」、「光によるpsbA mRNAの翻訳制御機構の解析」、「温度に対するリボソームの応答の解析、「乾燥、塩ストレス条件下でのプロリン合成酵素遺伝子の機能と発現の解析」
