研究概要

嶋田はウニ胚アリールスルファターゼ遺伝子の転写調節領域に存在するGストリング配列に結合するタンパク質を単離した他、同遺伝子の5'上流に存在するポリピリミジン領域の形成する特異なDNA構造モデルを提出した。末光はウニ外腸胚形成誘導ペプチドに関連するチロシンキナーゼのcDNAをクローン化し塩基配列を決定した。佐藤はホヤ胚筋肉アクチン遺伝子群がクラスターを形成していることを明らかにした。西駕はマボヤのLIM型ホメオボックス遺伝子Hrlimの転写活性化が原腸形成期に内胚葉と中胚葉系列で起こることを明らかにした。藤原は出芽ホヤ芽体でアルデヒド脱水素酵素遺伝子とホメオボックス遺伝子が発現することをRT-PCRで確認した。山上はメダカ眼胞形成胚で孵化酵素遺伝子の発現パターンを明らかにした。河原はカエルオタマジャクシ変態期に肝実質細胞で発現する遺伝子をクローン化し、その発現が幼生では甲状腺ホルモンによる調節を受けるが、成体では甲状腺ホルモンによる被調節能を失うことを明らかにした。片桐はツメガエル精子核蛋白質SP4遺伝子とSP5遺伝子のゲノム当たりのコピー数を決定し、転写調節シスエレメントを検索した。安部はイモリ精巣から分離した生殖細胞と体細胞を用いて、FSH存在下で体細胞が精原細胞のDNA合成を促進することを見いだした。吉里はウシガエル幼生のコラーゲン遺伝子をクローン化した。阿形はプラナリア再生に関連してHox遺伝子群とPOU遺伝子群をクローン化した。南部はアルテミアのノープリウス幼生から高純度のトレハラーゼ標品を精製した。
本年度はウニ、ホヤ、メダカ、カエルオタマジャクシ等で発生段階特異的・組織特異的な遺伝子発現調節の分子機構の研究が進み始めた。そのため、班会議でも活発な意見交換が行われ、発生における遺伝子発現制御機構の多様性が実体的に論議された。
