研究概要	嶋田は、ウニ胚アリールスルファターゼ遺伝子の発生時期特異的発現を調節する領域およびこの領域の活性を促進する領域を決定したほか、Gストリング結合蛋白cDNA4種の塩基配列を決定し、本遺伝子の発生時期特異的転写の調節機構を論じた。末光は、ウニ外腸胚形成促進ペプチドの遺伝子をクローン化し、転写調節領域のシスエレメントを検索した。佐藤は、ホヤ胚で発現する筋肉アクチン遺伝子の組織特異的発現に関わるシスエレメントを決定し、2種の異なる筋肉アクチン遺伝子のプロモーター活性を比較し、遺伝子の細胞系譜特異的発現調節機構を明らかにする大きな手がかりを得た。西駕は、ホヤ胚でLIM型ホメオボックス遺伝子Hrlimの発現が時間的・空間的に制御されていることを明らかにし,Hrlim遺伝子の産物がホヤ発生において多様な役割を持つことを示唆した。藤原は、群体ボヤの出芽時に2種のC型レクチンの遺伝子が発現することを明らかにした。山上は、メダカ孵化酵素遺伝子の発生時期特異的・組織特異的発現パターンを詳細に調べたほか、メダカ卵コリオン蛋白質サブユニットcDNAをクローン化した。河原は、アフリカツメガエル変態過程で肝臓実質細胞にユニークな遺伝子の一部が一時的に発現することを明らかにした。片桐は、安部と共同でアフリカツメガエル精子に特異的な塩基性核蛋白質SP5のcDNAをクローン化してその発現パターンを調べ、ツメガエル卵抽出液を用いて受精後の精子クロマチンの動態を論じた。安部は、上記の共同研究の他、イモリの一次精母細胞から精子への分化がセルトーリ細胞を介するFSHの働きによって促進されることをインビトロで明らかにし、精子形成の分子機構解明への手がかりを得た。吉里は、ウニガエルオタマジャクシ皮膚におけるコラーゲンとコラゲナーゼの発現が組織領域特異的であることとホルモン依存性であることを見いだし、コラゲナーゼ遺伝子をクローン化して塩基配列を決定し、その発現が変態期に特異的に起こることを明らかにした。この遺伝子の転写調節に関わるシスエレメントも検索した。阿形は、プラナリア再生におけるPouドメイン遺伝子の発現を調べた。南部は、アルテミアのノ-プリウス幼生からトレハラーゼをほぼ単一バンドまで精製し、cDNAクローン化のためアミノ酸配列決定を行った。本年度は本総合研究の最終年度であるが、阪神大震災のため交通が途絶し、班会議を開催できなかった。動物種ごとに異なる現象や遺伝子系を取り扱ったため、発生過程の遺伝子発現パターンを比較して論ずるところまで進まなかったのは反省点である。しかし、動物発生の遺伝子制御レベルでの多様性を探る手がかりは得られたと考えている。
