研究概要	本研究は、科学研究費補助金平成6年度発足重点領域研究の申請を目的として、以下の(A)〜(E)の研究グループを組織し、それぞれの研究項目を進展させるための最適方法を検討すると同時に、グループ間の研究成果達成のための方法について検討した。(A)構造解析グループ:有機結晶物質の特性発現条件下での構造解析に行うことにより、動的特性を直接構造変化として捕えることを目的とした研究方法の開発について検討した。(B)理論解析グループ:結晶場に束縛された分子の特性発現機構を理論的に解析し、新しい系の設計に役立つ構造化学的予測を行うための研究方法の開発について検討した。(C)動的特性解析グループ:有機結晶物質の光・電気・磁気等に対する動的特性の評価及び新らしい機能結晶材料の開発を目的として、そのための新しい方法論の開発について検討した。(D)分子認識解析グループ:分子間の水素結合相互作用に着目し、化学反応または包接現象に基づいた異種結晶間の相互変換及び有機結晶の構造を制御する因子の解明を目的として、新しい研究方法の検討を行った。(E)反応設計グループ:溶媒の存在しない結晶中で進行する高収率・高選択的反応の開発を目的として、新しい研究方法の開発について検討した。以上の各研究グループの成果を基に、平成4年11月大阪においてシンポジウムを開催し、またその前後数回にわたる研究打合せの結果、新しく愛媛大学工学部・戸田芙三夫教授を領域代表者とする重点領域研究「結晶環境下での反応設計」を申請した。新しく申請した重点領域研究の基本的な考え方は、これまで溶液中で行われてきた有機化学反応を結晶中で能率良くしかも選択的に行わせようとするもので、化学反応といと研究分野ではこれまでに見られなかった全く新しい視点からの研究である。
