複合植物群落の生産構造と窒素利用のモデル化

研究概要	多様な種から構成される植物群集の成立の機構を生理生態学的手法をもちいて明らかにすることを目的に次の研究を行った。(1)川渡ススキ草原において平成5年5月-8月、毎月ススキ群落構造・光分布・乾物とNの分布の調査を行い、季節的な群落構造の発達過程を解析した。吸光係数は0.47-0.77であった。同時にC4植物ススキの個葉光合成を測定し、N濃度との高い相関を得た。ススキ群落には、上層のススキのほか、中層にワラビ、ヤマハギ、サルトリイバラ、オカトラノオ、トダシバ、下層にシラヤマギク、ニガナ、ミツバツチグリ、スゲ、トリアシショウマ、アキノキリンソウ、オトギリソウの計13種が生育していた。各種の葉面積と光吸収量、葉窒素量の間には高い相関があった。群落上層を占める種ほど、大きい葉面積をもち、葉面積あたりの窒素濃度が大きい傾向にあったが、葉重量あたりの窒素濃度にはその傾向は見られなかった。群落下層の種は大きいSLAをもち、高い受光効率をもっていることが示唆された。(2)葉緑体の光合成系を形成する各タンパク質について、その増加が光合成の最大活性および初期勾配の増加にどのように寄与するのかを検討し、それをもとに葉の光-光合成曲線および葉の日光合成に及ぼす葉窒素濃度と葉緑体内の各タンパク質への分配の影響を考察した。(3)つる植物を水平にして栽培する実験系をもちいて、葉の窒素濃度・分配および光合成活性に及ぼす光と老化の影響を分離して検討した。老化と被陰はともに葉窒素濃度の減少をもたらすこと、しかし一定の光環境条件下の老化においては、葉の全窒素あたりのクロロフィル量はほゞ一定であるが、葉を被陰した場合には、その比が増加するという順化の傾向が認められるなど、両者は明らかに異なるプロセスであることを明らかにした。
