グリッド点を保存する幾何学的変換とその応用に関する研究

研究概要	平成4年度は理論的な基礎を固めることに重点を置いて研究を進めた。すなわち、グリッド点を保存する幾何学的変換について数学的に考察を進め、特にグリッド点をグリッド点に写し、さらに図形の性質をも保存する変換を数学的に特徴づけた。この性質に基づいて、凸多角形の内部に含まれるグリッド点を効率よく列挙する算法や、x座標最小のグリッド点を求める方法が得られたが、今年度は列挙だけでなく格子点の個数をカウントする算法についても考察し、理論的に最適な方法を考案した。さらに、理論的な考察だけにとどまらず、このアルゴリズムをC言語でプログラム化し、実際的な効率について検討した結果、従来の方法に比べて著しい改良を確認することができた。また、この変換法をうまく用いて2変数の整数計画問題に対する効率のよいアルゴリズムも与えた。これについても計算機実験を行ない、その有効性を確認した。計算機実験はワークステーションを用いて行なったが、そのプログラムのリストの一部(主要部分のみ)報告書に含めてある。さらに研究計画の段階では考えていなかったことであるが、応用例として、濃淡画像を2値画像で近似するディジタル・ハーフトーニングの問題さらにはディジタル画像から直線や円のような基本図形の成分を検出する問題についても考察し、効率のよいアルゴリズムを得ることに成功した。これらの問題に対して従来から様々な方法が提案されているが、問題の計算複雑度が厳密に解析されたことがなかった。理論の基本になるのは整数論のいくつかの定理であるが、従来は連続平面を仮定することが多かったので、今回の考察は新たな数学的知識を必要とするということでも意味があるものと思われる。
