150GHz帯ミリ波分子線による高密度分子雲コアの観測

研究概要	本研究の目的は、星形成の初期段階における分子雲コアの進化を観測的に解明することである。具体的な成果は、以下のとおりである。 (1)4m鏡のC^<18>O輝線観測、および45m鏡のH^<13>CO^+輝線観測をもとに、原始星形成前後の分子雲コアで、コアの物理状態に明確な違いがあることを明らかにした。原始星形成後のコアは原始星形成前のコアのより小さく、約3分の1の0.03pc程度の大きさしかないが、ほぼ同程度の質量(3ないし5太陽質量)を有していることが明らかになった。このため、原始星形成後のコアはガスの中心集中度が高く、原始星形成前のコアに比べ平均密度が1桁以上大きくなっている。これは、原始星形成前後での分子雲コアの収縮を表しているものとして理解される。これまでにいくつかの理論計算はあったものの、分子雲コアの収縮過程を観測的に捉え、実際の収縮がどの程度のサイズスケールで起こっているかを観測的に示したものはこれが初めてである。 (2)45m鏡の角分解能(20″)は、分子雲コアの詳細な密度分布を調べるのに適しているが、広範囲を短時間で観測することができない。そこで、名古屋大学の4m鏡に210GHzから280GHzの周波数域をカバーする受信器を搭載し、60″から90″の角分解能で効率的に高密度でコンパクトなコアを探査することを計画した。当初計画では、150GHz帯の受信器を開発する予定であったが、技術的な見通しがたったため、より高い空間分解能が達成できる230GHz帯受信器を開発することにした。受信器の心臓部である超伝導ミクサの製作は完了しており、現在その性能評価を行なっているが、世界最高の感度を有する110GHz帯ミクサと遜色ない電流-電圧特性が得られている。次期観測シーズンには望遠鏡に搭載し、高密度でコンパクトな分子雲コアの探査を行なう予定である。
