研究概要	フラーレン分子の合成と反応、および単結晶と薄膜を主体とする固体フラーレンの定量的な物性評価と新機能の開発を目指した研究を推進し、以下の成果を得た。大気圧低温プラズマという新しい方法で、芳香族化合物の縮合CVDによりフラーレンが合成できることを見出し、置換フラーレンや内包フラーレンの新合成法としての可能性を検討した。また、H^+オン注入によるH@C_<60>の可能性を示唆した(鯉沼ら)。光によるフラーレンの重合と酸素や吸着分子の作用について、電導度や、電気化学測定、レーザー脱離TOF質量分析により新たな知見が得られた(高橋、岸尾、鯉沼)。昇華法によりC_<60>、C_<70>単結晶を育成し、その結晶構造とシェル形成(岸尾ら)電気電導(丸山)について検討した。insituのタイムオブフライト測定から得られたμ_h,μeはそれぞれ1.7および0.5cm^2/V.S程度であり温度依存の小さいことからホッピングまたはトンネルによる電導機構を推定した(丸山)。精密熱測定からは、残留溶媒による相転移への影響と分子運動との関連が明らかにされた(阿竹)。蒸着や分子線エピタキシ-などのポピュラーな方法による薄膜化(丸山、高橋、南)のほか、パルスレーザー堆積(PLD)、イオンプレーティング(鯉沼)などの新しい方法により薄膜化が達成された。PLD法では特に密着性、表面モホロジーのすぐれた膜が得られ、金属表面へのコーティングにより、固体潤滑機能を確認した(鯉沼)。また、金属炭化物からPLD膜中にC_<60>が含まれることも明かになった。クラスター研究におけるレーザーの新たな可能性を示す結果といえよう。薄膜の電導性については従来、ぱらつきの大きなデータが報告されてきたが、in situ測定により、結晶性や酸素に敏感な特性が明確になった(南、丸山、鯉沼)。超伝導に関連するフラーレンのアルカリ金属のド-ピングと電子状態の研究が高真空下の薄膜作製とド-ピング装置にin situの光電子分光を組合わせて行われ、フェルミレベル近傍の電子構造の変化が明確になった。また、Sc_2@C_<84>における異常原子価を示すデータが得られた(高橋)。AlC_<60>(Al=Rb, Cs)における3次元伝導相、2量体相、ポリマー相、fcc相の相関係を決定した(阿竹)。
