研究概要	本研究では、フリーラジカルの生成メカニズムと構造を研究する上で、もっとも基礎的でかつその解明が急がれている以下の1)〜3)に焦点をあてて研究を行った。 1)分子の光吸収により生成する励起分子の解離過程(シンクロトロン放射光とレーザーを相補的に用いる) 2)電子・分子衝突(放電も含む)によって生成する励起分子の解離過程(パルス放電ノズルを用いる) 3)原子またはフリーラジカルと分子との反応(クラスタービームを用いる) これらを反応ダイナミックスの観点から調べること、また、同時にラジカルの構造を新しい高分解能レーザー分光法により明らかにし、分子定数を精密に決定することを目的とした。籏野は、超励起分子解離ダイナミックスを研究する新しい方法論を開発した。放射光と2次元分光とを組み合わせたものである。また、光学的禁制状態に対しては低エネルギー電子線散乱による電子エネルギー損失スペクトルと解離過程の同時計数測定を開発し新たな知見を得た。本間は、構造を規定した中間体からの半反応を用いて反応の動力学的な情報を得る目的で、H+H_2S+H_2+SH反応系について測定を行いH_2(V,J)分布を明らかにした。江播は、CORydberg状態に対して複数の波長可変・レーザー光による多重共鳴分光法を用いて、主量子数が5以上のリュードベリ状態の回転構造を明らかにした。また、解離フラグメントの生成収率スペクトルを求めた。遠藤は、炭素鎖フリーラジカル、金属原子を含むフリーラジカル、ラジカル錯体等の高分解能分光を行い、多くの新しい知見を得ている。たとえば、OH-H_2O錯体に関するものは、多原子分子錯体の最初の例として興味深い。このようにしてフリーラジカルの生成メカニズムと構造について研究計画調書に記した計画を実施し、成果をあげることが出来た。
