研究概要	本研究は平成6年度発足予定の重点領域研究「細胞質分裂の分子機構」の準備を目的として行われた。この領域は動物細胞に典型的に見られる、収縮環が形成され、分裂溝が進行するタイプの細胞質分裂の分子機構の解明を目指すものである。この準備のため、第1回の研究報告会を平成5年10月に前橋市で、第1回の相談会を同年同月に東京で、第2回の研究報告会と相談会を平成6年1月に東京で持った。更に予定領域代表者(馬渕)と予定事務担当者(沼田)がこの総合研究(B)のまとめについての会合を平成6年2月に東京でもった。また、同年同月に東京で本領域の計画研究班、総括班、公募研究の審査会を持った。これらの研究報告会において、1)分裂シグナル伝達に蛋白質リン酸化と低分子量G蛋白質rhoが関与していること、2)収縮環に局在する新しいアクチン調節蛋白質ARPのcDNAがクローニングされたこと、3)アフリカツメガエルの分裂変異卵の変異蛋白質とERMファミリー蛋白質の関連、4)分裂溝においてアクチン繊維がERMファミリー蛋白質と密接に関連していること、5)テトラヒメナのEF1αがアクチン繊維を架橋する活性を持つこと、6)ウニ卵の分裂時にミオシンのリン酸化が量的にも質的にも変動するようには見えないこと、7)細胞性粘菌の分裂変異株の単離、などが報告された。これらの報告により、重点領域の遂行に向けて、研究面の準備が順調に進んでいることが確認された。また、上記の相談会において、研究の進め方と予算配分、必要備品、領域発足後のシンポジウムと公開研究発表会の開催について、相互連絡方法などが討議された。
