二重拡散重力流のダイナミックスの解明と数値予測モデルの開発

研究概要	目的: 本研究では、熱及び物質の移動が共存し、それらの混合の度合によって正負両方の浮力効果を持つような重力流(二重拡散重力流と呼ぶ)を対象に、そのダイナミックスの解明と数値予測モデルの開発を行うことを目的とする。これは液化天然ガス(LNG)の流出、火砕流、前線性豪雨(雪)の予測を想定した基礎研究である。経過および成果: 本年度は、成層乱流の高次の輸送理論を組み込んだ高空間分解能の重力流数値モデル(現有)を用いる。二重拡散重力流についてKelvin-Helmholtz不安定現象を調べた。この場合、周囲流体の巻き込み(混合)によって生じる局所的な浮力が、不安定の発生条件、混合機構に及ぼす変化を明らかにした。さらに、流れの不安定で生まれる渦が重力流の内部構造、ダイナミックスにもたらす変化を明らかにした。即ち、二重拡散重力流の場合、局所的に形成される(上向きの)浮力がK-H不安定を加速し、これにともなって生じる混合がさらに浮力を生めため、K-H不安定定が著しく加速されることを示した。また、活発化したK-H不安定による混合が重力流の上面でのdragを生むため、重力流の進行速度が著しく減速されること、重力流の内部構造もK-H不安定のない場合とは大きく異なったものになることを示した。これらのことは大型成層風洞実験によっても検証した。
