研究概要

学術情報の国際的な流通を促進するための国際共同研究を継続した。平成8年度には主に、タイとの間に設置された国際リンクを有効活用するための情報流通方策、流通方式について共同研究した。バンコクにおいてNECTEC10周年記念式典の一環として、本研究に関する国際ワークショップ(WAINS-3)を開催した。ワークショップでは、日・タイ両国の研究者により、主にアプリケーションについて討論をした。さらに日本国内の研究者と海外の研究者の間でネットワークを経由し共同して研究を促進する新しいツールや手段の可能性についても議論した。以上を要約すると、以下のようになる。
1)NACSISタイプロジェクトのもとに国際ワークショップ(WAINS-3)を実施し、今後の展望について討論した。
2)学術情報センターのサービスを英国、タイのに加えて、ストックホルム大学およびチューリッヒ大学から利用するための調査、目録検索ソフトの初期のインストールを行って、国際インターネット接続によるアプリケーションの実証研究を行った。
3)タイからのデータベース利用を促進させるための、日本語学科教員、図書館司書に対して、教育研修をした。
4)日米文化教育会議カルコンにおいて、情報アクセスの主査として日米情報アクセスに関する調査、提言をした。
5)最終年度にあたあり、タイとネットワークを経由して協調して研究報告作成作業を試みた。
6)ベトナムとのネットワーク支援教育の実験計画を提案するなど、アジア地域における将来の学術情報交換システムの形成に基礎資料を提供した。
7)次年度以降の国際学術情報流通の対象国拡張に関する新プロジェクトの提言をした。
