電子移動方向制御を目的とする自己組織化界面の構築

研究概要

界面での電子移動の方向制御を目的に機能分子の固体表面上への高配向性の単分子層の構築を検討している。
本年度は光感応性のポリフィリン基、電子伝達体として機能するキノン基及び電極結合能を持つチオール基を連結した分子(I)と生体内酸化還元物質として重要なキノン基を持つアルキルチオール誘導体分子(メルカプトウンデシルヒドロキノン)(II)を新たに合成し、それぞれの修飾電極の特性評価を行った。
分子(I)で修飾した電極についてUV、IRおよびXPS測定を行い、分子が電極表面に固定されている事を確認し、電気化学測定を行い、表面固定量を決定した。吸着量は1.3×10^<13>個/cm^2でメルカプトキノン単独で吸着させた場合の1/20程度であった。これはポルフィリン基のかさ高さによるものであろう。電子受容体としてメチルビオローゲン、電子供与体としてEDTAを含む液体中でこの修飾電極を光照射するとキノン基の酸化還元電位より正電位側でアノード光電流が、負電位側でカソード光電流が観察された。
分子(II)で修飾した電極について電気化学応答を詳細に調べた。メルカプトヒドロキノン修飾電極に比べて(II)修飾電極の電気化学特性はより不可逆であり、電流ピークに大きな分離が観測された。また、酸中に比べてアルカリ中の方が可逆性が高く、プロトン移動が速度に重要な影響を与えている事がわかった。さらに吸着量の増加とともに不可逆が増したが、これは低吸着率では分子の自由度が大きく、キノン部位と電極との距離が近づくためと考えられる。
