研究概要	造血幹細胞の定着・増殖・分化・死のシグナルについての研究は世界的にも急速に進展している分野であるが、本研究班でも活発な研究が行なわれた。北村はマスト細胞の最も重要な増殖因子stem cell factorの受容体であるc-kitの発現に影響を与える転写因子について調べた。c-kitは造血幹細胞では発現しているが、マスト細胞以外の細胞系統に分化するとその発現が停止する。一方マスト細胞へと分化が進むとc-kitの発現量が増す。北村はこのマスト細胞に特異的なc-kitの発現に、マウスのmi遺伝子座がコードする転写因子(MITF)が関与していることを示唆する結果を得た。西川は血小板由来増殖因子(PDGF)のα受容体の突然変異マウスでは造血組織に異常があり、その異常の原因は胎児肝臓におけるPDGFのα受容体陽性の微小環境の形成の障害であることを示した。また西川はリンパ球の細胞分裂についても研究し、fynキナーゼの関与を示した。帯刀は純化した造血幹細胞に作用して、骨髄系とリンパ系の両方向に分化誘導する支持細胞株とリンパ系にのみ分化誘導する支持細胞株を樹立した。平井はAML1遺伝子の血液細胞の分化への影響を調べた。alternative splicingにより生ずる2種類の遺伝子産物、AML1aとAML1bは顆粒球への分化に関し反対の作用を示した。井川はエリスロポエチン受容体の下流のシグナル伝達に関して研究し、フレンド白血病細胞とCTLL-2細胞にエリスロポエチン受容体cDNAを導入した細胞ではシグナル伝達に関与する蛋白質が異なることを示した。辻本はbc1-2蛋白がアポトーシスばかりでなくネクローシスも抑制することを示した。中井はM1細胞の分化に影響を与える転写因子を、大田はテネイシンの造血幹細胞の分化に与える影響を調べた。
