研究概要	(1)本班は1988〜90年の3年間に約12万人の健康住民コホートについて基礎調査をし、その後10年間のがん死亡ならびにがん羅患状況を追跡、がん発生に関連する要因を検討、評価するこ死亡は国へ報告された死亡小票をベースに、死因・死亡年月日などの調査を毎年実施し、別にとを本班の目的とする。 1994年末までに確認された死亡者は6,368名(男3,840名、女2,728名)で、そのうちの約1/3が新生物によるものであった。がん羅患状況は、24施設中15施設で調査中であり、1997年末で1,434例報告されている。また、別に産業企業体従業員3万人を対象に同様の追跡調査を実施しており今後、地域住民との比較、若年層のがん発生状況など貴重な資料が得られるものと期待される。 (2)現在、既に収集したデータ(特に、食品摂取頻度調査、運動調査、家族歴)の信頼性を確認するための小グループが活動している。この結果がまとまることにより、信頼性の確認された質の高いデータを用いてがんの発生要因を検討できることが期待される。臓器別死亡関連要因の詳細については、グループを作り検討を進めるが、結果を公表することを考えて、必要症例数に達している部位から開始する予定である。これらの成果は、21世紀のがん対策の資料やがん研究の推進に用いられる。
