研究概要	現在は、観測・実験やシミュレーションの進展により、アインシュタインの一般相対論に対する関心が非常に集まっている時期と考えられる。本研究では、この機会を捕らえ、国内の一般相対論およびその周辺分野の一流研究者を集め、以下の3つの最重要課題を中心に共同研究を行い、一般相対論および重力波の基礎的理解を深め、相対論的物理学の新しい発展を図ることを目指している。 1.一般相対論における未解決問題の研究(解析的アプローチ:富松彰、小玉英雄、前田恵一・数値的アプローチ:中村卓史、江里口良治、大原謙一、小嶌康史) 2.観測的宇宙論とその一般相対論的取り扱い(佐々木節、二間瀬敏史、石原秀樹、前田恵一) 3.素粒子統一理論と一般相対論の関連(吉村太彦、細谷暁夫、小玉英雄、前田恵一) 平成7年度は、昨年度リストアップした課題を各研究班にわかれ調べ、共同研究をスタートした。研究課題1に関しては、未解決問題の整理と現在数値的相対論によりアプローチ可能な問題の設定、研究課題2では、非線型密度揺らぎの成長問題を、研究課題3に関しては、超ひも理論や超対称性を仮定したときの曲がった空間(宇宙やブラックホール解)の古典的および量子論的問題点について考察中である。各研究分担内容に応じて個々の研究者およびその周辺の研究者、学生と共同研究を行っている段階であるが、それらについてより集中的に議論、共同研究を行うため、東京セミナー定期的に行っている(9月:早稲田大学、12月:東京工業大学)。また、一般相対論全般において現在日本全国で行われている研究を鳥瞰する目的として、従来の大研究会「一般相対論と重力」の第5回目を名古屋で1月末に行った。参加者は100名以上、講演数は前回同様50を越える盛況な研究会であった。
