研究概要

本研究においては、積極的に新しい理想的光電気界面を設計、創成し、その機能発現をさせていくことを最終目的としてきた。そのために分子レベルでの光界面の挙動の解明もおこなった。
本年度は、下記の課題について研究を実施してきた。研究成果は非常に良好であった。
1.半導体超格子膜の光電気化学特性の検討
・半導体超格子膜を光半導体電極として用い、Si半導体は水中で不安定であるが、SiC、SiNは非常に安定であるので、これらが溶液と接触するように超格子膜を作製した。
2.光機能性ダイヤモンド薄膜の設計と合成
・導電性ダイヤモンド電極を用いて、種々の腐食性電解質溶液中での電気化学反応を試みた。
・ホウ素のド-ピング濃度を中程度になるように制御し、半導体特性を持ったダイヤモンド薄膜を作製し、それを用いた光電気化学反応、特に炭酸ガス還元と窒素還元反応を試みた。これは非常に強い還元力を有すると考えられ、通常の電気化学的還元法では困難な反応もほぼ目的達成に近い結果が得られた。
・光電気化学エッチング法で処理したシリコンを基板として用いて、その上にダイヤモンドを成膜することにより、ミクロンオーダーの微細構造を制御したダイヤモンド薄膜を作製した。
3.光界面構造と電荷分離効率の相関の解明
前年度までに作製した光電流・ラマン同時マッピング装置を活用して、光界面構造と電荷分離効率の相関の解明を試みた。
