節足動物の運動制御系にみられる冗長性に関する研究

研究概要

1)ノンスパイキング巨大介在ニューロン(NGI)には、複眼からの光感覚入力、平衡胞からの重力感覚入力、歩脚の自己受容器からの機械感覚入力が収斂している。これらの3種の感覚入力間には、序列が存在し、重力感覚入力が存在する条件では、他の感覚入力のNGIに対する刺激効果は抑えられる。また、NGIによって駆動される眼柄の補償運動のゲインは、歩行などの運動中枢によって支配されている。
2)神経索中の8対の巨大介在ニューロンのうち、背側を走行する4対の巨大介在ニューロン(dGI)はそれぞれ脱分極電流の注入によって、脚が接地している場合には歩行運動が、脚が空中に浮いている場合には飛翔運動を、脚や体が水に接している場合には遊泳運動を解発する。複数のdGIに同時通電すると、それぞれの刺激効果が加算され、潜時が短縮し、運動の持続時間が延長する。一方、脳内には、肢が接地した状態では歩行運動を、空中に浮いた状態では飛翔運動をそれぞれ解発する18本の行動トリガーニューロンが存在する。神経索の切断実験の結果は、食道下神経節には肢などからの自己受容入力を統合し、感覚入力に適合する運動パターンを選択する神経機構が存在することを示唆する。
3)以上の結果は、節足動物の運動制御系には、冗長性に基づく“false safe"の原則が存在するとともに、“synergic action"による運動の安定制御機構や運動パターンの選択機構が存在することを強く暗示している。
今後、本研究で明らかにされた“冗長性"を基本にする神経機構の動作原理をさらに追求して行くことは、高次神経系のメカニズムの解明にとって極めて重要な知見をもたらすことになろう。
