研究概要

東京大学臨海実験所に設置した海産動物飼育培養装置を使用し、1985年に野生株より分離した個体より開始したカタユウレイボヤ自家交配系は19代目まで達し、更に新たに初代からの純系の作成を始めた。平成8年度に計画している頭索類ナメクジウオの飼育に向けて、森沢は中華人民共和国、青島海洋研究所に赴き、当地で採集されるナメクジウオの飼育の実体を調査し、実際に人工受精を試みた。
東京工業大学では、日本各地のユウレイボヤ類の遺伝的多型の研究は論文にまとめる段階にいたっている。またホヤで得られている遺伝子についてその染色体上の位置を決めること(FISH)を目的として、その第一段階として染色体解析を試みている。
岡山大学臨海実験所では、棘皮動物の純系作成の基礎として,イトマキヒトデおよびマナマコの受精卵から成体までの飼育を試みている。イトマキヒトデは1994年10月受精のもの,マナマコは1995年3月受精のものを継続飼育中である。成熟に導く適当な餌料を探索している。
広島大学臨海実験所ではカタユウレイボヤの大量養殖技術の確立-塩化ビニール製の三角板を工夫してカタユウレイボヤを大量に培養することに成功し、本年度は約2,000個体を京都大学、甲南大学、姫路工業大学、福山大学の研究者に供給した。ナツメボヤは約200個体の育成ができた。白色のマボヤの育成ならびに純系動物の作製は途上にある。
今年京都大学佐藤に代わって新たに加わった三重大学の後藤は毛顎動物であるヤムシを実験動物として扱うために,底生性ヤムシであるイソヤムシとカエデイソヤムシの2種を用いて,実験室内での累代飼育を進めた。その結果、これら2種の完全飼育を可能にし,世代時間や増殖率を明らかにした。更に実験室内で増殖したカエデイソヤムシを用いて,この動物のcDNAライブラリーの作製,およびアクチン遺伝子の単離を進めている。
